Latest Update

Hi Folks,
Would love to write to you all individually, but just to many of you. Thank you all for your wonderful messages, they really keep our spirit up. We are on day 5 of our 10 day wait, it feels like 10 years. We can't wait to get home and start our new life with Katrina. These are our latest photo's hope you enjoy them as much as we do taking them. Love Pat, Elisabeth, Paul and Katrina.

I (Darren) remember the waiting, but also the growing sense of guarded excitement in anticipation of going home. I'm not sure how much you will have to complete in Kyiv, but if it is similar to what we had to do, take a few deep breaths. Our last few days in Kyiv were kind of a repeated cycle of hurry then wait, with the odd moment of worry thrown in. But really, it is very worthwhile. I'm sure you, like us, would go through much more, if necessary, to bring your daughter into your home.
Soon you will remember only some of the details of your time in Ukraine, and that, almost as a dream.

Paul and I have been thinking of you often, and can imagine that the final five days until you can go to Kiev will seem the longest of all (except for the trip home, of course)!

Ken will have told you that we are having a sample of the weather you have had over there, as it's about 35 degrees right now!

Please know our thoughts and good wishes are with you.

Love, Ruth (and Paul)

By the time you see this, the 10 days of waiting should be over, and your little girl will be yours in law as well as in your hearts. Congratulations!!! Now, may the final paperwork and your return to Canada go smoothly.

We are also looking forward to seeing more photos and an update when you return to Kyiv, where you should have easier internet access.

With all our very best wishes,

Hello Pat: My first post disappeared so here goes again.

you soon will be flying through the skies back home to Canada with your granddaughter. How wonderful is that? When Katrina is ready Reija wishes to invite her and you and Elisabeth for tea and play. Thinking of you all every day.

We've been home almost 2 weeks with the 2 boys and have been a bit overwhelmed and have enjoyed getting settled back in. We know you will be glad to get home with your new little girl. She is adorable! Hang in there, we know it seems like it takes forever when your're there but once you're home it seems like it wasn't so bad. Congratulations.

We adopted our two children from Anatoshka in Kramatorsk. There are really a lot of things to do there. But our translator lived there to show us the hidden fun! It looks like Katrina was in the same room both of my children were in, but my youngest is now 3 and 1/2 so she would have been moved to a different group. Tell Anatoly that the Windsors say Hi from Indiana and the kids are doing wonderfully! Congratulations and God Bless you all!
